This is a great female fronted pop band. Why do people always comment when it's a female fronted group as opposed to a band with a male vocalist? Because that makes them better. 9 times out of 10 I prefer female vocals to male (the Lunachicks are one exception). Discount are a great band from Florida and this is one of their earlier releases. They do a great cover of R.E.M.'s "The End of the World". Alison does the vocals almost as fast as R.E.M. Worth checking out for this cover song alone.
Tracks: 1. Waiting By the Wayside 2. Malarie's Mission 3. K.V. T-Shirt 4. Half the Time 5. Milly 6. Lights Out 7. Streets 8. The Sun Comes Up 9. Her Last Day 10. No Surprise 11. Tomorrow Will Be 12. Everbody Everybody 13. It's the End of the World (R.E.M.)

This record shows Discount's progression in the music world. Equally poppy, but a lot more refined as "Ataxia's Alright Tonight." What I love about this CD is that in the insert, next to each set of lyrics there is artwork by the singer, Alison. All the artwork relates to the song and gives an additional visual perspective. Every song is extremely catchy and I frequently catch myself humming these tunes. One of my favorite quotes comes from this CD: "Let go just to discover how little we know about ech other. How often we avoid each other's eyes. It's like ail on our backs." All the songs are quite poetical, and they bury Jewel's poetry.
