My first introduction to this band came on Asian Man Records's "Misfits of Ska 2" and I really liked what I heard. So you can imagine how ecstatic I was when this arrived in my mailbox one afternoon. The only two complaints I have over the entire CD is that "Untitled" sounds way too similar to early Sublime (circa demo days) or The Specials' "Rat Race" and in "Shitlist" they say "shitlist" too much (even if it is a catchy song). From start to finish though, this makes me want to move to Switzerland (or just see them if the play here). The Peacocks have a rockabilly sound that they mix with ska and pop. They have opened up for such bands as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Voodoo Glowskulls, Citizen Fish, MU330, The Toasters, and The Slackers. They have been playing for seven years and I sure hope that they play for many more. The vocals are the best part of the entire disc. Anybody can listen to them. They're so catchy! I may as well mention that my favorite song on the CD is by far "First" which is the second song on the CD and has such a great introduction that would make it really easy to sing-a-long to and then goes into a faster guitar part and all. It's great. Check out the Peacocks!
