So I always had in my head that Jump Up Records was mainly a ska label. Listening to Teenage Frames completely burst that false idea. Think rock'n'roll. Maybe a little punk. That's it. Straight up rock'n'roll. Along the lines of Iggy Pop & the Stooges meets Blanks '77 meets Van Morrisson or something like that. The Clash, The Jam, Elvis Costello also come to mind when I listen to this. I was very pleasantly surprised by this release. Extremely catchy. I find myself humming some of the lines from songs like "Here Comes the City" and "Who are the Darlings of the Avant Garde" quite often. This record comes out on August 10, 1999 so you should look forward to pick it up. Hopefully they'll be touring and play a few New England dates in support of this record. They've been out to New York before and over to Spain (for a sold out 10 day tour) but have yet to hit New England. ALso, the song to listen to on the CD is "Dopesville". I love it.
