Welcome to the "Ancestors of the Nusekabel Family" Home Page. My name is Jim Nusekabel. I've been gathering bits of family information for the past several years as a hobby.

Just click on my picture to go to Chart #1 or click on the "Surnames" page above. I would like to hear from anyone who can add to or correct any information. You can e-mail me at the address listed on these charts. Some of the surnames relating to the family are: Neiheisel, Westrich, Naber, Scholle, Wagenbach and Ostendorf.
My new email address is: kabel@zoomtown.com

Click here for interesting information and pictures of the Buer region of our German ancestors.

Some families know a great deal about their roots; others know very little. This site is an attempt to record what I've learned about our family history. In these modern times, families tend to be scattered all over the country, if not the world. One of the goals of this web site is to help our family stay connected even though we live far apart.

I would like to thank Dennis Longwell for the information he supplied on the Naber family, and to Kent Nusekabel for his research of old Ripley Co. Indiana records.

My cousin Betsy Ginn Landess has also been a great help with pictures and clarifications on the Naber side of the family.

Click here to check out the web pages of Brian Laws, he has much information on the Neiheisel family that goes back to the 1600's.

I recently received information from
the Nösekabel family of Osnabrück,
Germany that directly links the
family back to the 1700's and
variations of the surname to the 1300's.
Check out these family charts often as
I will be constantly updating them.
