Master Kaleidoscope Artists: Luc and Sallie Durette

Luc and Sallie Durette: This couple has produced two of my all-time favorite kaleidoscopes, Aurora and Fanta Sea. They have sold scopes under the names of Spectrum Art and Secret Garden Kaleidoscopes. They have explored some unusual mirror arrangements. Their hand held scopes are usually a good value.

On the Threshold of a Dream: This scope from 1996 is #17 of 75. I would describe the unusual image as a black dome covered in small colorful mandala domes. The third photo shows a close-up of one of the small domes.

Pami's Potpourri: A 30-60-90 mirror configuration scope. It is covered in tapestry fabric and has dried flowers in the object cell. Produced in 1992. My flowers have faded and need to be replaced. The potpourri in the little sachet is very fragrant.
Shadowdancer: This one was produced in 1997. Object cell hosts many Czechoslovakian beads. Back wall of the object cell is polarized and with a simple twist goes from a white background to a dark background.
