Master Kaleidoscope Artist: Willie Stevenson

Willie Stevenson: This is one of the masters whose work I really wish I had more of in my collection. Willie also was known as Spirit Scopes. He was an early modern artist and explored many new horizons in the kaleidoscope world. Many of his pieces are polyangular, with an adjustable mirror angle in a 2-mirror scope.

Polyangular Beta Series: This scope is a fine example of metalworking. The top section rotates the object chamber. The side knob changes the mirror angle. The first four pictures from this scope are of the same object chamber, with the mirror angle adjusted. It is #001, dated 1989.

Quantum Visions: This one is dated 1994. It is also polyangular. The objects in the object chamber are not as high quality as the Beta.

Copper Tube: This one is dated 1991. I think it may be titled New Vortex or Genesis. Oil-filled object chamber.

Home Planet #1: This one is #15 of 25, dated 1992. It features a polyangular mirror system. The object chamber is actually a 5-inch planet-type marble made by master glassworker Shantidevi. The actual scope images are much brighter than my photos.
