Creative Photography & Photojournalism
Suan I. Lim started Kamera Obscura in 1991 on her return to Malaysia from New Zealand where she worked for 3 and a half years in the Commercial Photography field. She has a degree in Photography from the USA where she went to school in Denver , Colorado. Suan has also worked and resided in Dallas, Texas.
Although photojournalism is Suan's first love , for the past few years her main focus has been in commercial photography. Since having started Kamera Obscura in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, she has been photographing mainly people and food for advertising and editorial purposes.
Her love for photojournalism is evident in her commercial work whereby the element of spontaneity, emotion and action is apparent. Suan is also known to be able to capture her subjects in a very natural state.
