Kings County Covered Bridge Festival

Welcome to Kings County, New Brunswick!
The Covered Bridge Capital of Atlantic Canada

The residents and businesses of Kings County are busy working on a summer festival celebrating the 16 covered bridges in our county. Built around the turn of the 20th century, these bridges were built for the practical purpose of protecting the spans from the elements, thus extending the life of a bridge. Yet, practical measures cannot stand in the way of the romantic stories which have grown up around them.

We need your help to make this event the international success we know it can be. Word of our bridges has been spreading for years, especially in the last decade. This website is meant to assist New Brunswick organizations, businesses, and groups stay abreast of plans for the July 7 to 13 Kings County Covered Bridge Festival.

Whether able to grant wishes to travellers who lift their feet as they cross, or serving as a quiet spot for a young man to steal a kiss from his lady, these "kissing bridges" remain a wonderful link to earlier, and simpler, times.

Let's show the world the hospitality Kings County is known for!
