Miniature Snowman Pattern

Skill level: Beginner

Needs: Size 8 (5.00mm) needles
Worsted weight yarn, white for body, colors for scarf and hat
Instructions:
Cast on 20 stitches
Garter stitch 4 rows
K1,P1 4 rows
Stockinette stitch 4 rows
K1,P1 4 rows
Garter stitch 4 rows
Cut yarn leaving a 10" tail.
Thread a yarn needle with yarn end and slip through stitches on the needle, sliding the stitches off and pulling the yarn to gather the stitches at the top. Insert 1 1/2 inch styrofoam ball in first and gather the ends of the knitting over the ball. Sew up the seam over the ball, then put 2 inch ball beneath other ball and finish sewing the seam. Add face cut from black felt or plastic eyes from craft store.

To make knit cap:
Cast on 22 stitches
K1,P1 for 3 rows
Stockinette stitch for 8 rows
K2 tog across the row, 10 stitches remaining
Stockette stitch for 2 rows
Cut yarn leaving 6" tail. Thread yarn needle and run yarn through stitches and gather top together. Sew sides of cap together. Add a pom-pom or tassel for decoration.

To make knit scarf:
Cast on 4 stitches
Garter stitch until scarf is desired length (3 1/2 inches)
Cast off
Attach tassels, if desired
A hot glue gun can be used to attach face, cap, and scarf.
