Charles Lyman Reed was born Feb 10, 1910 in Fairview, MT and died July 11, 1969 in Des Moines, IA. His parents were John Christopher Reed and Francis Rozella Allen. Charles married Catherine Leona Newton in Iowa and they had 8 children, all born in Iowa. Siblings included John C Jr., Francis M., Golda G., Viola, William (and one remaining live sister). Lines tieing in through children's marriages include Lloyd, Houge, Smiley.

John Christopher Reed was born Dec 8, 1880 and died Feb 1966 in Iowa. His parents were Lyman Homer Reed and Clarinda B. Eutsler. He married Francis Rozella Allen, in MT. They had seven children, born in MT and IA. John C's sister was Jessie Pearl (m b>Farrell).

Lyman Homer Reed was born Jul 1858 and died Jan 8, 1887 in Iowa. His parents were Jonas Christopher Reed and Sophyrania Andrews. He married Clarinda B. Eutsler. They had 2 children John Christopher and Jessie Pearl. Lyman's siblings included Mark L., Lowrance, Corinthia M., Sylvania L., Aretus J., James, (all born in OH), and Estella W., Mary Ann, Alda, and Emma Dell. (all born in IA). Lines that tie in through children's marriages include Williams, Aplin, Dearth.

Jonas Christopher Reed info indicates he was born 1812 of South Danvers, [MA?]. He married Sophyrana Andrews 11/12/1848, Delaware County, OH.

Clarinda B. Eutsler was born Jan 1860 in Appanoose County, IA and died 1943 in Berwick, IA. She married Lyman H. Reed in IA. Although Clarinda was born in IA, her parents , John Eutsler and Sarah Elizabeth Zinn, were from OH, married in Jackson County, and her siblings were all born in OH. Atleast 2 brothers were born in Cincinnati. Siblings included Mary, John T., William, Latissa, Enos, and Charles. John and Charles relocated to MT in 1903. John married Mary Staley in IA, where their son Warren was born 1878. Clarinda was of Native American heritage, although I have not verified the nation(s) yet. Aflter Lyman's death, she remarried N.A. Snook, they had 3 sons: William, Arthur, and Earl.

Sarah Elizabeth Zinn was born Jun 1815 in OH. She married John Eutsler Feb 1837 in Jackson County, OH.

Sophyrania Andrews was born Oct 19, 1826 in Liberty, Delaware County, OH. Her parents were Lyman Andrews and Percy Minerva Vining. Lyman and Percy were married 12/6/1818 in Worthington, Franklin County, OH. Sophyrania married Jonas Reed 11/12/1848 in Delaware County, OH.

Joseph W. Allen according to a Montana history book "James" Allen was born Feb 1837 at the mouth of Little Redstone, Fayette County, PA. He married Sarah E. Wright Jan 01, 1866 in Topeka, KS. In May 1866 he and Sarah went up the Bozeman Trail to MT where they initially traveled from the western end of the state (Helena area) to the eastern end (Glendive) where they settled in 1880 and remained til both of their deaths, 1903 and 1923 respectively. He died near the ND border. Their known children include Orfina, Thomas, William R., Joseph E (Jody), Margaret (Maggie), Frank, Sophia, Martha (Mattie), Francis R., and Grant. Tie in lines include Berg, Berry, Bosshard, Hartwick, Mallet, Moore, Nearman, Ohnstad, Prahl, Smithen, Sorenson, Staley. In newspaper clippings about Sarah and the children, he is identified as Joseph W or JW Allen. To date the only info from the Montana history book I have been able to verify was their Jan 1, 1866 marriage and possibly his Civil War record.

Francis Rozella Allen was born May 1884 in Glendive, MT. She married John Christopher Reed. They had 7 known children. She died 1937 in Berwick, IA.

Sarah E. Wright

was born 1942 in KY. She married Joseph W. Allen Jan 1866 in Topeka, KS and they went up the Bozeman Trail to MT. Sarah died Aug 1923 in Fairview, MT. Known siblings inlcude William (CA), Morgan (KS) and Susannah Smiley (2) (MT).
