The Bears won their second dual of the year as they recorded 4 pins and a major decision to hold off East Valley 37-28. East Valley freshman wrestlers, Hopkins and Thompson, are going to be very good. Scott Thompson gave Brandon Ashley a tight match at 103. These two will probably be wrestling each other all the way to state. Ryan Corke lost a 12-2 major decision to Kameron Hopkins, who is likely to join Thompson on the team bus to state.

Mickey Salinas and Jose Gonzalez gave the Bears great support with pins in their matches. Kyle Nickerson gave Jamie Sehorn a good battle and showed that he is ready to wrestle with the top wrestlers in the CWAC. Two good showings against Freeman and Sehorn will give Kyle confidence.

Ramon DelAngel started his senior year with a pin. Josh Corriell continued his run through the 189 pound class with a pin. Cody Roos got caught up in a high scoring match with Luis Escamilla and lost a hard fought 18-10 decision. Corke (6-0) and Avila (7-0) remain unbeaten this year.
