Caraway gave Mitchell a good fight but succumbed to a pin with 17 seconds left in the match. Caraway spoiled South champion Rudy Garza's tournament with a pin in the semi's. Garza didn't seem to recover from the defeat and finished 6th.

125 - DeLaPena vs Cerna V. Only this time Cerna was spelled S-T-E-P-H-E-N-S. The match between Ale and Troy evoked memories of the Ale's matches with John Cerna of Toppenish. Stephens was not intimidated by the two time state champion and did not back down to the challenge. However the result was the same as it has been 101 of the last 102 times Ale has stepped on the mat. All the takedowns went to Ale as he won a 6-3 decision. Could be a preview of the state finals. Casey McCourtie came out of nowhere this postseason to make it to state.

135 - Another overtime match between Thompson and Villarreal ended in the same result. A takedown for the championship by Thompson. Josh Corke did indeed provide an upset as he defeated Guadalupe Montes of Connell 10-6 in the consolation semis. Guadalupe then took 5th by pinning #1 North seed Ben Dronen. The interesting thing about the pin was that Dronen was on top at the time. Dronen had a legride in, but Montes grabbed Dronen's head and pulled his head down so that Dronen's shoulders where touching the mat. Dronen did not realize that he had been pinned until the ref told him to stop wrestling because he had been pinned.

160 - Mike Yedinak pulled off the move of the night. Leading 6-2 over Chad Tuck, Yedinak was in danger of being takendown. Tuck had a single leg and looked like he was in control. Yedinak then did a forward somersault, through Tuck's legs and came up behind Tuck for the takedown and an 8-2 win. It was unbelievable!!! Tuck showed that he will be a force at state with an earlier semifinal OT win over 99' state 3rd place finisher Adam Bacon of Chelan.
