Twas the night after Christmas
All had been jolly, I guess
Every room was a shambles
And the kitchen? a big mess
The stove was overloaded
Dishes stacked in the sink
Mama looked-and she fainted
The family said"I'll help, I think"
So dad took off his Santa suit
Rolled up his sleeves and soon
Put on an apron, told the children
Empty garbage! grab a broom
Then dad took an asprin
And began whistling a Christmas tune
Said hurry, work hard
We'll have all presentable soon
In no time they began helping
Said We'll please mama because
We''ve got a whole year before
We'll have another Santa Claus
