Taking pictures...pictures... and more pictures. Something I never expected I'd be doing in a long time. But hey, when you get a camera for a gift, you gotta make good use of it!
And that's exactly what I did.

Recently, I made a trip to sunny California...from September 4th to the 17th, 2001 to be exact. On my trip, I managed to get a few snaps. Here are the results...
This is a shot of the hilly areas just outside of Atascadero. I've never seen so many hills in my life!
The NBC studios in Burbank, along with the Tonight Show Studio. Too bad Jay Leno didn't pop out to say "bonjour mon amie!". Instead, I got the cleaning guy working outside. I figured he didn't have enough "star power" to be in the shot

This was one place I had loads of fun! It's the Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero.
I was taken there by my girl and we had a blast, just walking around in the glorious sunshine, taking in all the animals...even talking to a few of them! They didn't quite answer back, but hey, would you answer back to someone or something that was outside of your species and not speaking your language?
Nevertheless, it was time well spent
The entire time wasn't just spent viewing the animals. We also took in the beautiful Atascadero Lake, just outside of the zoo. It was water that didn't have some sort of odour coming from it! I guess, being around Lake Ontario for all my life and knowing what the atmosphere around there is like, this was quite a change!
I paid a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium...all I can say is I loved it.
This was a shot of the shoreline from one of the decks at the aquarium. I wanted to get a couple of shots of the seals sunning themselves on the rocks, but the were kinda out of range, though their cries were sure loud!
Oh, on a side note...the seagulls out there are the largest birds I've ever seen! I swear, the turkey I had for Thanksgiving wasn't nearly as big as those things!
