Welcome to the CXC Geography Course Page. This page is intended to provide CXC Geography Students with useful material pertaining to the subject of Geography.

 

Did you know?

                                                Clouds are classified by their appearance, form and height.                                            There are High level clouds located between 6000 and 12000 metres above sea level.                                            There are Medium level clouds located between 2100 and 6000 metres above sea level.                                            There are Low level clouds located below 2100 metres above sea level.                                            There are Clouds of great vertical extent located between 1500 and 9000 metres above sea level.                                            High level clouds consist of Cirrus clouds, Cirrocumulus clouds and Cirrostratus clouds.                                            Medium level clouds consist of Altocumulus clouds and Altrostratus clouds.                                            Low level clouds consist of Stratocumulus clouds, Nimbostratus clouds and Stratus clouds.                                            Clouds of great vertical extent consist of Cumulus clouds and Cumulonimbus clouds.                                            The temperature of a place is influenced by the following factors : Latitude, Altitude, Ocean currents, Distance from the sea, winds, aspect, cloud cover, length of day, amound of dust and other impurities in the air.


News and events:

    July 1, 2003

        Class will be held in the auditorium next week Tuesday to view a

        presentation from a lecturer of Geography from the University of

        the West Indies.

    June 30, 2003

        The last test has been marked and will be handed back in the next

        class.

    June 20, 2003

        The third term test will be on June 25, 2003 and will consist of

        all topics up to and including clouds.

    June 17, 2003

        Assignment 3 has been marked and will be handed back in the next

        class.

    June 4, 2003

        Assignment 3 is now available and is due on June 13, 2003.
