LIBI
- Flushing Celebrates First Graduating Class |
June 19th marked a milestone for Long
Island Business Institute's Flushing Branch as 91 members of the
Class of 2003 joined their families and friends in celebration of
the branch's first graduation ceremony at the Sheraton La Guardia
East Hotel. The ceremony was presided over by President Jean Baron,
Academic Dean Dr. Philip Stander, and Flushing Branch Director,
Dr. Henry Moss. John W. Lee, Superintendent of Queens High Schools,
and District 20 City Councilman John Liu also spoke to the graduates
in recognition of their academic achievement.
This year, Jun Zhu, a business
management major, and Jin Wang, an accounting major, shared
the honor of Valedictorian and 33 students with a GPA of 3.7
or higher received high honors awards. With their new Associate
in Occupational Studies degree in hand, many graduates have
already secured quality jobs and others are actively pursuing
their career objectives. Some are planning to continue study
toward a Bachelor's degree in the fall.
