Matthew James ca 1818 died ca 1885 son of ??, married 5/16/1844 Lucretia Highsmith born 7/25/1821 died 8/29/1899 daughter of Daniel Highsmith and "Betsy" Elizabeth Stancil granddaughter of William Highsmith and Dorcas Highsmith, and Nobles Stancil and Nancy Highsmith.   Matthew and Lucretia' two children;  Sarah Ann James ca 1845 died after 1900 married W.H.Williams Godfrey James ca 1846 died 3/6/1875.
