Ducks Page 2

MUSIC MAKERS

The guy on the left is a plain little fella but he quacks various tunes. The sailor quacks  a very annoying array of songs like "London Bridge" and "Mary had  Little Lamb". The one flailing his little wings is actually a roly-poly toy that is weighted in the bottom. But he looks like a RD and floats pretty well. He also has a chime inside.

SAME MOLD, DIFFERENT STORIES

On the left is a duck you'll see in almost every baby  department of a store. In the center is the famous "Hilton  Duck". The one on the right I got at a carnival in a game  in which you have to pick up a duck from a "pond" and you get a prize according to a letter on the bottom of the duck. I asked if I could just have the duck. I got it.

THE CUTESIES

The one on the left seems to be a cheap knockoff of the very quality-made one in the center with a different body. If you hold these two you can tell the difference in materials. The one on the right squirts water and is from a "Bath Bobbers" set.

THE LAKE GENEVANS

I picked up this silly bunch in a toy store in Lake  Geneva, Wisconsin. The middle one has a baseball cap, in case it's hard to see.

THE RACING DUCKS

I am very proud of my racing ducks. These are the official racing ducks used in charity races around water  parks  and lakes throughout the country. I got the yellows at White Water Park in Atlanta where the Great Atlanta Duck Race was being held. My future brother-in-law  in Iowa sent me the white one, which glows in the dark.

THE GOOFIES

The one on the left has the shivery-rubbery feel of a  dog squeaky toy but you can see it in various gift stores, packed in a little box marked "The Original Rubber   Ducky". The one on the right I found lying on the floor at a Target Store and the cashier let me have it for free. But both share a very goofy, if dazed, expression that just cracks me up.
