Located in the historical Colosseum-Monti neighborhood, in the very Heart of Rome. A most unusual place to stay in Rome, with a "hotel treatment" but at much lower price! The “Grotto” is the
other part of the Grand Studio Loft. This apartment sleeps up to 6 guests
(but a 7th bed can be added) and captures the essence of true Roman ruins
within your living space. 85 squared meters of Roman history (25 of which on
Ground floor + 65 in the basement). |

There is one double bed on the ground floor, and one double and two single beds in the basement. The entrance is into the kitchen and small living area (where there is a very comfortable double sofa bed). A small spiral staircase takes you into the main room which is a large cellar type room. On one end there is a double bed and a sofa (with wardrobe and hanging space); on the opposite end there is a dining area with table and chairs, and the two single sofa beds. The apartment has an incredibly beautiful "Pompeian" bathroom, with a large shower and a bath located by an ancient Roman wall where you'll notice old marble stones, broken vases and bricks. The bathroom is basically constructed around a large ancient Roman pillar. The main pillar has been restored and form part of the walls in the bathroom. Embedded within the pillar are clearly distinguishable artifacts, up to 2000 years old. There is a bath, basin, toilet and shower. The Basin is dated late 1800s. The basement also shows a vaulted ceiling with arches from the 14th century. A state of the art air-circulation system is installed to ensure a very comfortable environment. Within 40 meters either way are some great eating places, which cater to a variety of budgets and tastes, and a five minute stroll, will get you to a large number of dining, snacking, drinking, and "cobbled courtyard coffee-in-the-sun" establishments. Apart from being in a perfect location, the intuitive, tasteful and innovative design combines a big space feel with a feeling of privacy. |

You can forget your car: the place is only a 5 minute walk
from the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Maximum Circus; 15 minutes from the
Spanish Steps, Trevi’s Fountain, and "La Dolce Vita" in Via Veneto.
Subway Stop CAVOUR is only 300 meters away and will connect you to the rest
of the City. Transport in and out of the area is very simple as 100
meters away is an underground station and a short walk to the Forum area
takes you into the centre of the city. |

RATES: 110 Euros per night up to 2 people
(+ 20 Euros per extra person per night). It includes daily cleaning,
linen, towels. BOOKING PROCEDURE: You are booked once you send your credit card data. Maximum privacy is - of course - granted. Split the info into 2 different e-mails for better security. PAYMENT: CASH UPON ARRIVAL PICK UP SERVICE: It can be organized if you wish. Rates are pretty good, service is excellent and helpful in case of need: 37 Euros up to 3 people; 52 Euros up to 6. We need to know your expected arrival time and Flight No. ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE: We need to know your expected arrival time in advance in order to welcome you at the apartment. Departure: luggage must be ready by 10 am in order to allow the maid to clean up the apartment for next guests. Late departures are not a problem but we must be informed to make arrangements. NOTES: hair-dryer, iron and (iron board) are provided. No phone (but many internet-cafés are in the area) and no Washing Machine (but your laundry can be washed/ironed upon request for a little extra; also Coin Laundry shops are very close).
