Meaning of the S.M. Lok Yuk School Flag
The flag was created by Adeline Matijan (Class 5E2 1997). It was raised for the first time in the Lok Yuk Hall for the school prize-giving ceremony on the 15th of November 1997.
Colors: Light Blue: Unity and harmony that exists among various races in the school .
Dark Blue: Disipline and academic excellence.
RisingBlack Line: Disipline that is the key to academic excellence where it 'peaks' to an aspect that raises the good name of the school and is 'surrounded' by one cohesive unity and harmony among the various races that make up the students of this school. It also symbolises Mount Kinabalu, Sabah's landmark, which in turn symbolises a will to achieve success where "the sky is the limit".
Inside the dark blue portion, is the school Logo with the motto, "Berilmu dan Beramal" (knowledgable and charitable) which means students that are both wise and willing to contribute to society and nation.
