THE ACORN TREE
We have been very busy at The Acorn Tree. So much to do, so little time to do it, I guess we might as well get started.
The Acorn Tree would like to extend a very big "thank you" to M.E. Fuller, for sending us her recipe for "Mystery Cake"

Mystery CakeCompliments of M.E. Fuller
For this recipe, you will need:
1 can of prepared fruit pie filling (simply choose your fruit)
1 pkg. of white, or yellow cake mix (the small pkgs. like Jiffy Cake Mix work well with this)
1/4 lb or 1 stick of melted butter
You don't even need your mixing bowl for this one, all you need to do now is:
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees.
Grease one 8x8 in. metal pan.
Pour one can of the prepared pie filling into the greased pan.
Pour one pkg. of cake mix over the filling. Do not prepare the mix, use it dry just as it comes in the box.
Pour the melted butter in next.
Now just pop it in the oven and bake for about 1 hour.
That's it! So easy!!
This great desert idea serves 9. and is delicious with a scoop of your favorite ice cream or a little whipped cream.
Pssst..........Don't tell what kind of fruit you put in it....Keep it a mystery!
Ms. Fuller suggests that you try apple filling with spice cake or cherry filling with chocolate cake.
