EV:N Phoenix is a total conversion for Ambrosia Software's hit game Escape Velocity: Nova. The player is tossed into a fluid and dynamic universe, where his every decision can change the fate of the galaxy forever…

The player begins in the Procyon Cluster, an enclave of humans who fled the conflict and death of the Omega War. They lost contact with Earth, and have drifted apart from their homeworld, the last transmission from Earth hinting at an unfathomable alien threat. Now, the Procyon Cluster is seeking to reopen ties with its forgotten birthplace, and discover once and for all the fate of lost Earth.

The galaxy of EV:N Phoenix is wrought with danger. An ancient alien Empire, a rising hope for deliverance, and an evil as old as life itself. In the middle of these competing influences lies humanity, its fate uncertain. Do you have what it takes to redeem mankind… or doom it for all eternity?

Mankind: Divided and weak, but with an unparelleled tenacity.
The Enaran Empire: Old, strong, but crumbling from the inside.
T'lek'ma: A race enslaved, ready to throw off its shackles.
Y'baru: Money is their god, and they are very faithful worshippers indeed.
Ma-laraq: A telepathic race, an enigma to outsiders.

We've started using a new type of compression which has greatly reduced the size of these movies, but they are probably still a burden to 56kers. Sorry.

Progress Log:

8/5/06
Yes. It has been a long time. No we are not dead. We have made the switch over to Intel Macs and although it was rocky, thanks to Zacha Pedro and his wonderful custom version of Rezilla work is continuing. On that note we've got a new preamble in the preambles section for your enjoyment.
8/16/05
Guess what! We're still adding campaigns! We've also made significant headway on Enaran and Y'baru weapons and outfits. In addition, we've uploaded the EVN Phoenix Intro Movie which you can download above.
7/16/05
Work on writing and adding campaigns continues. We've also added a preamble section for you to peruse.
1/17/05
We've successfully added all the outfits and weapons for the Procyon Cluster and Terran Alliance. In addition, we've finished several more preambles. This page of the website may be undergoing some renovation soon s that all can enjoy said preambles. Also, all but about three ships have been modeled, shäned, and added to the game. Expect more updates in the near future, perhaps including the first ever screenshots of Phoenix!
8/22/04
Not much progress made on the TC itself, but the teaser is now available!
8/18/04
First you'll notice that we've done some editing on this page, weeding out some images that were old or featured old models in an effort to make the page more 56k friendly. If these images happened to be near and dear to your heart, have no fear, you can always email us.

Now, a quick update on the status of the writing we've done so far. We have planned six major campaigns and one introductory campaign. Of these seven campaigns, three have been fully written and two have been programmed. We've outlined 13 minor campaigns of varying depth and length. Of these 13, two have been fully written. We've also completed three out of a planned six or seven preambles. These preambles may make an appearance on the website soon. Stay tuned…

8/16/04
Well it has indeed been a while. The definition of soon is very flexible around these parts. The universe has been more or less completed. We've begun work adding weapons and outfits along with their respective images and descriptions. That's all for now, expect more to come, well, soon…
12/28/03
Var'lus campaign has been completed. Work has begun on outfits and weapons, while mission coding continues. Expect more updates soon.
10/31/03
All the spöbs have been added for Enaran space, leaving only a few stragglers inside Ma-laraq space to go. The universe is in the final stages of development and mission coding has begun in earnest.
9/27/03

Well, as you can see, we've replaced the title image for this page. We've also put up a few more images.

In the total conversion itself, we've finished adding spöbs everywhere except for the Enaran core systems. Also, we've added the bulk of the ships to the game. There are still a few stragglers and missing shäns, but that stage is nearing completion. The Ma-laraq campaign is about half-way written as is the Var'lus campaign. We've finished story-boarding some minor mission strings as well. Stay tuned…

7/27/03
A new title image will be up soon to replace the outdated one we've got currently. We've finished adding spöbs and standard trading missions to the Terran Cluster as well as the Procyon cluster. Descriptions have also been written for all of these spöbs. We should also have some tasty new images up in a couple days.
7/18/03
Hurrah! We've accomplished quite a bit in our little Total Conversion. First bit of news is that it has been renamed to EVN: Phoenix. We're quite happy about it although anything would've been an improvement on the previous name. Speaking of the old name, the current title image will soon be replaced. We've got ourselves a working interface and have pretty much completed making the Procyon Cluster. It's got planets, stations, ships, missions, you name it. In addition, we've finished writing all the mission descriptions for the T'lek'ma campaign and are more than half way done with the Ma-laraq campaign. Stay posted for more updates…
6/6/03
Even more spöbs have been added to Ma-laraq space, which is now populated by Ma-laraq ships. Our graphics work for the Ma-laraq fleet has been completed and we expect to have a reasonably well functioning universe shortly.
4/17/03
More spöbs have been created. We've modeled even more ships and stations for the Y'baru, T'lek'ma, and Enarans. We've begun writing mission descriptions for the T'lek'ma campaign, the introductory campaign, and the Procyon Cluster campaign.
2/17/03
Some generic spöbs have been created and we've begun writing mission descriptions for the first mission string. The stack of papers we've shoved into our binder continues to grow as Mr. Correll produces concept art ten times faster than we can model. Perhaps we'll add a site of scanned in concept art.
1/27/03
All the star systems have been mapped and finalized. Next, work on the spöbs begins!
1/19/03
Finished up changes to the existing graphics, ships, planets, and systems. Concept art has been done for almost all the ships and stations we'll be needing.
1/12/03
Added graphics and statistics for about twelve ships. The graphics are not permanent, but are certainly a start!
12/28/02
The majority of the systems have been added and graphics for Earth and the solar system have been imported.
11/17/02
Inspiration strikes the Lunar Productions staff and work begins on the total conversion.

Here are some screen shots and beauty shots of ships that we've created for the game. Click on any image to enlarge.
