This is my favorite garfield strip so far because Odie
wins once again

As the sun began to set and the waves subsided along the sandy beach,
I thought of you.
As the crickets proceeded to sing their nightly song and the birds nestled snugly in their homes,
I thought of you.
I dreamt of our days in each other's arms, unsure where the path was leading us
Yet knowing that we would take it together and no fear would break our bond.

Now I sit alone and trembling, I know the path was lead astray.
The once serene sounds of the calming waves have turned into tyrant crashes of thunder.
I have been lonely since you have left my life,
Leaving my heart broken and confused.
I see you standing before me in my dreams, holding up a rose to offer 
Until you simply disappear into the mist.

I peer into the sky and no longer see the bright rays which once filled my day, making me smile so.
I see a world full of darkness with evil clouds
Which block the light from this poor flower, starving for its nutrients.
Please, allow this poor soul the chance to breathe to the fullest again 
And give me the strength to go on.
Enable my heart to heal its wounds and be one with yours once again, 
Reliving the past and regaining our future.
