Chemistry: Very Good Relationship: Colleagues Work Again: Positive Being a singer did not help Lam to succeed, he rightfully switched to acting in the early 90s. Despite not being the red-hot actor, Lam see actors his junior passed him by with one leading role after another, Lam remains faithful with TVB. In the late '90s, when TVB was running short on leading men, Lam was back on the track. His chemistry with Maggie is mediocre for some, very good for others. His aloofness toward Maggie off the camera certainly affected his on-screen chemistry. This is, once again, suspected that it is due to his friendship with Jessica Hsuan. Though denied by Lam, saying that he is good friends with Maggie, the chemistry was lacking beneath mutual affection on the screen. The Unexpected Lam played an ordinary cop who is mesmerizes by a tycoon's daughter, Maggie. Both are wild and dangerous characters, lots of kissing scenes, they mesh well together in this series. The Sky is the Limit Their characters in this series are very different. Maggie is a simple-minded Mainland Chinese girl and Bowie is a good-for-nothing, shy patrol policeman. Despite the 180 change, Lam and Maggie has the same sparks in The Unexpected. Once Upon a Time in Shanghai They have little scenes together in this series due to the nature of their characters.
