Welcome!
The Magic of Old Time Radio is a collection of site links, information and commentary by fans of old time radio. It is intended to be a resource for old and new fans. It is by no means complete, nor is it intended to be an authority on the subject. Rather, it is intended to be a place to meet people and talk about a wonderful, amazing hobby.

New to OTR?
This site can be a great resource for folks who are new to Old Time Radio. I've collected links from all over the Internet and tried to organize them in a fashion for folks who are looking for specific shows or to download or listen to shows. If you are new to the hobby, you'll find places to buy CDs or cassettes as well as listen online.
Browse around a bit. You never know what you'll hear next!
In the beginning...
I fell over old time radio quite by accident. One Sunday afternoon as I was twirling the radio dial looking for something interesting to listen to, I happened across an episode of Fibber McGee and Molly being broadcast from a station in nearby Kansas. I stopped to listen and was hooked. I was about eleven at the time and had never heard Fibber McGee and his closet, let alone old time radio.
Over the years I began to collect shows as I could and was lucky to be near a station that ran an hour of OTR shows each night.
Why build this site?
As I journeyed around the Internet I found literally hundreds of links to pages and references to newsgroups, e-mail groups, downloading (FTP) sites, you name it. The end result was a collection of bookmarks that was confusing, disorganized, duplicated, frustrating.
If I was new to the Internet world of OTR and having trouble finding my way, others could be too.
So I sat down and began building a place where anyone who was interested to could come to find some sort of roadmap to guide them.
If you are new to the realm of OTR on the Internet, make yourself comfortable, browse to your heart's content! If you are a long time member of OTR on the Internet, please let me know your thoughts on what is created here -- and if you have information you'd like to add, please don't hesitate to contact me!
