Previous Mainframe_Chaos Layouts
Mainframe_Chaos has been around for quite some time, and has gone through several layouts. Unfortunately, Most of those layouts ended up being deleted without a screen cap or any trace of it. Those lost layouts exist now only my memory, and of those who saw them. Mainframe_Chaos has evolved from a novice and amateurish website into a more sophisticated (though, no where near the greats!) website with nicer designs. After many failed attempts, and learning from past mistakes, Mainframe_Chaos has evolved into what it is today, and will continue to evolve as skills and creativity strikes it. What you will see below are the few saved pictures of previous layouts (If anyone has a picture of a layout not found, I would love if you would e-mail it to me). Future layouts will continue to appear here (at the bottom of the page) to preserve the history of this site.

This is the earliest layout I can possibly recall for the website. This was only the front page, though. You had to click on a certain part of the picture to gain access to the actual website. Unfortunately, I don't recall what the website looked like after you click on the picture! I liked the orange color. I thought it was pretty.

After a while, I moved on to a more Hex theme (to go with the 'chaos' in the site name). The opening page was pretty much the same as before, but now it was black with a picture of Hex' masks (I liked that picture). The inside was a two-frames layout. The left side would rotate a couple of pictures of Hex, and the buttons were rollovers (the insides were transparent, but when the mouse went over them, they became black). The picture of Mainframe blowing up was the first image I ever used on this site (except the picture was purple the first time. It was changed red-ish to go better with Hex). That picture existed forever!

Eventually I moved on to a Megabyte theme, with a picture of Meggy on the left, and his face was faded over the explosion picture. The link buttons remained the same.

I got tired of the constant black backgrounds and moved on to a more white-based theme (still continuing with the purple that seemed to be a big thing at the time). There was that purple explosion pic which was eventually replaced with just the title of the website. The links were off to the left.

I finally got out of that explosion pic phase! I moved on to a nice AndrAIa pic, and there was lots of room to read the text. The links were rollovers, and turned silver.

This was one of my most favorite layouts. Some people didn't like it because the image and links were on the right side, and most people are used to seeing it on the left, I think that's one of the main reasons I liked it so much. The image in the top-right hand corner would rotate between about 15 different images. The links were in the blue bar at the bottom-right, and the link options would appear in the text-space above. All the actual information would appear in the big space on the left. I might have to resurrect this layout because I like it so much!

This was supposed to be Christmas layout, but I never actually released it to the public. It's kind of a shame, but I lost no sleep over it. On the left, the text reads: "Mainframe_Chaos Season's Greetings" and when you held your mouse over it, it would FADE to green. That was pretty cool, but it took a while on slower computers. The links at the bottom would turn green when your mouse was held over it. I wasn't very fond of this layout.

This was another one of my more preferred layouts. I 'heart' that picture of Bob! I thought it went very well with the golden-yellowy-orange. The links on the right would change blue when you held your mouse over it. Someone had pointed out to me that I spelt millennium wrong (I'm not sure if I ever fixed it!). If you look closely at the bottom, you can see a banner that says: "I'm a URA 2001 Nominee!". The big problem with this layout, was that the picture of Bob would repeat itself if you made the screen any bigger than 800x600 pixels. At the time I couldn't seem to figure out how to fix that!

I thought this layout was very cute. The image was of Frisket sleeping, and there was a bigger version, faded in the background. The text was inside a red box (and the background didn't move, it stayed in place), while the links were off to the left. There were no rollovers in here, but that's okay, because the layout was so nice!

This was a cheap layout that I did at work with only the "Microsoft Paint" program to work with. I "drew" a picture of AndrAIa (I figured she'd be most recognizable) and some stars and created my worst layout ever! It was mostly to get the attention of the viewers to let them know that there would be a major update by Canada Day (July 1st). Unfortunately, that never actually happened. My apologies for that and the layout.

This was just a front page (which lead back to the cheap layout when you clicked on the image). I liked that image of Daemon and Hexadecimal, and used that one with the words: "Mainframe_Chaos Back Online Soon!" below. Mainframe_Chaos never actually went offline, but it sounded better this way. This page was just to grab the attention of the viewers and let them know that website was being updated (seriously) this time!

This was the new layout that finally replaced that cheap paint layout that existed. With this layout, Mainframe_Chaos was revitalized, and brought back online. I really liked this layout. I went through several designs before I finally settled on this one. This layout wasn't graphics intense like so many before it. The words over the picture read: "I am Daemon. My Format: Super Virus. My Function: To bring Unity to the Net. All Must hear the Word . . . Mainframe_Chaos". The text was right below the image in the center. On the left side were the main links (home, new, sitemap (a new section), info, media, site), and when you clicked on one, the following link choices (if it lead to more than one page) would appear on the right side. I thought that was easy to follow and the text space was large. The links weren't underlined like all of the other times, and when you put your mouse over them, they would change to a pink color! The thing I liked the most about this layout was the colored scrollbar! I'd never had one before, and it looked so cool! This is by far my most favorite layout! I don't ever want to change, but I must keep in mind that change is good... yes... good...
