Course Plan

Introduction

Natural polymeric materials have always been around, but synthetic (man-made) polymeric materials (plastics, rubbers and composites) have had a significant impact on our lives since WWII. The subsequent growth has been very rapid though plastics, rubbers and composites are now found everywhere with many types increasingly used in sophisticated technical applications where they have earned the prestigious title of "Engineering Materials".
