Matrin Taylor

Greetings fellow internet explorers, and welcome to my home page. Here you will learn more about me and my interests (and adventures).

Read the long history of my involvement with SPONGE , and its affects on me.

For more information on SPONGE, visit their web site.

My first and primary interest is my wife, Uta, whom I have been married to for eight years and some months (not counting the time I was either dead or frozen).Uta

- My field of expertise is Hyperspace Theory (and I use the word "theory" only because the "Academic" world still insists upon categorizing it that way). I have my BS in Physics (specializing in Field Theory and String Theory), and I am currently in a PhD program at Miskatonic University, in sunny, Arkham, Massachusetts. Consequently, I teach two classes at their School of Physics (Quantum Mechanics I, and Experiments in Cosmology).

- In the last several years, I have been exposed to many wonders, and was fortunate enough to capture them on film. I like to use a Polaroid OneStep, because it's fairly easy to load and operate with one hand, and of course, I get instant results. Here are some of my favorite photos.

My apologies... I had to take down a lot of the pictures I had on this site. Tripod was getting some complaints, and threatened to cancel my membership. I suppose the one with the hyenas and the zamboni was a little disturbing.

Factoids about me!

  • Yes the name is Matrin and not Martin. This was due to a typographical error on my birth certificate that my parents learned to live with, and so did I.

  • Yes, I did lose my right arm twice, and my left arm once (not to mention my right eye twice) while working with SPONGE. See the history for more info.

  • Yes, Uta lost her eye in a sewing accident when she was a teenager. Nothing to do with the occult.

  • No, I am not a native of the New England area. My orignal habitat is Chicago, and I spent my formative years in various parts of Illinois. Arkham is lovely country-side in the day time. At night however, it takes on a rather sinister quality, or maybe that's just my imagination... but when you've seen the things I've seen with my one eye, you don't need much of an imagination.
