John song Not Myself is featured on the soundtrack for the movie How To Deal, starring Mandy Moore and Trent Ford.   The movie's website, http://www.howtodealmovie.com/soundtrack.html, says of the song:

This tender, intricate ballad comes from John Mayer's sleeper hit album, his 2001 full length debut Room For Squares, and is fully representative of his shimmering, subtle rock sound.

The soundtrack will be available July 8th; other the John Mayer, it includes Liz Phair, Beth Orton, The Flaming Lips, Skye Sweetnam, The Donnas, The Music, Aslyn, Tremalo, Majorie Fair,  ECHO, and Cat Stevens.

Bigger than My Body

John and members of the Local-83 crew just filmed a video for John's single 'Bigger than My Body' off his new album. The video was filmed in California with some of the Californian Local-83ers as extras. Look for the video in the near future!

Frankie Muniz on John

I thought you might be interested that on Frankie's Mtv.com member profile it says:

I am a huge John Mayer fan and when I was filming a movie in Vancouver he was playing up there I got backstage passes and sat ON STAGE when he played. It was amazing and I've now been to 4 other john mayer shows.

Maybe one of you guys will see him at one of John's upcoming shows...

John with Snoop Dogg and Lillix

The Snoop Dogg show 'Doggie Fizzle Televizzle' on MTV had a sketch making fun of the reality television shows about interior decorating. At the end of the sketch, an announcer said that John Mayer would be on the made up design show moving one lucky fans furniture 1 inch to the left. Just thought you all might find that interesting; it's good to know Snoop's thinking of John.

On today's TRL, July 1, a fact on the scroll during the Lillix video said that the artist the band most admirers is our very own John Mayer.

New tattoo?

One of my friends who went to the Jazzfest in New Orleans told me that John had gotten a new tattoo! Actually, he added to an already existing one. John has a rectangular box tattoo on his right arm that's split into three equal boxes. The middle one is filled in with a flower design, but he added a design to the far right box. I'm not quite sure what the design is, but you can faintly see it in the picture I posted of John at Jazzfest in the right column of this page.

Best Concert?

The new issue of Teen People's Summer Music Special includes tour dates and a summary of John's summer tour w/Counting Crows. The issue also has celebrities naming the best concert they've seen. Michelle Trachtenberg (Buffy, Harriet the Spy) named John's saying "John Mayer. I just met him at a live taping of American Idol, which I love, and he was just the sweetest thing ever." The issue also says that John would love to be a writer for Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

John in Print!

The USANA Amphitheatre 2003 Summer Tour Guide has an article about John's show with the Counting Crow's and Maroon 5 in Utah on July 8th.

"...New on the music scene is the boy next-door John Mayer. A welcome divergence from the over-produced pop of the last few years, Mayer is a real musician. He writes his own music, plays the guitar and even sings lyrics he's written. Room for Squares, his first major lavel album has been a stunning success and the latest release, Any Given Thursday, a live album recorded in September 2002, gives us a true taste of what the live John Mayer show is all about. Mayer's unique voice, thoughtful lyrics and sparse, acoustic sound are the key to good albums and good performances. Like the Counting Crows, Mayer will be around for years to come.

Everyone knows that two is always better than one. In the case of the Counting Crows/John Mayer show, ticket holders will be treated to one of the season's best two-in-one concerts." Written By:Sarah O'Leary

Jimmy Fallon does John Mayer!!!!!

No not like that you dirty, dirty people! As you may-er may not know, Jimmy Fallon is one of the cast members of Saturday Night Live. Well, Jimmy Fallon also hosts weekend update on SNL w/Tiny Fey. Anywho, it was the St.Patricks day edition and Jimmy was doing parodies of songs with Irish themed lyrics. Jimmy Fallon did a parody of John by performing Your Body is A Wonderland with lyrics that went something like Nobodies here from Ireland and I don't really remember the rest. Check it our if you get a chance!

John Performs with Sting and the Police!

If you've watched/listened to the Any Given Thursday commentary with John, Scotty and Dela you know that John was really looking forwarding Sting and the Police's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame where they would be performing. Well people, dreams do come true. John not only was a guest at the extravaganza, which is being shown in heavy rotation on VH1, he got to perform! John, Gwen Stefani, and Steven Tyler did a walk during the performance of I'll be watching you. It's quite interesting to see John w/o a guitar. lol Check it out!
