Christ, Luke Skywalker, and Aslan:

The Battle Between Good and Evil

By Teresa Carr

Jesus said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20) He also said, “Assuredly I say to you, whosoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart…” (Mark 11:23)

The scene where Master Yoda lifts Luke’s X-wing fighter out of the swamp by the powers of the force after Luke had attempt the same and failed. Yoda tells Luke the power of the force how it binds every living thing and the universe. Luke’s response to Yoda, “You want the impossible.” After Yoda’s accomplishment, Luke said, “I don’t believe it.” Yoda replies, “That’s why you fail.” Luke wrestled with the dark side of the force because of his inner anger and fears. We like Luke are what we all face in our walk of life.

For Aslan is another likeness of Christ battles the forces of evil in the land of Narnia.
