There will be one of the greatest events ever in history that will affect the entire Earth in the near future. That event is called the Rapture or the coming of Christ to caught up and evacuate the His children (the church) into Heaven before another event called the Seven-year Tribulation that will usher in worldwide chaos and the appearance of the Antichrist to deceive the whole Earth (Daniel 9:26-27; Daniel 12:1). The Rapture comes from the Latin word Rapio which means snatching away, will be the Great Escape of the church of all ages (centuries of believers) will take part in this wonderful event. According to 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18, Christ will descend from Heaven with a shout, and the trump of God will sound, with the voice of the archangel: the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. We shall all be changed in a moment in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead in Christ shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Death is swallowed up in victory (I Corinthians 15:51-54). What a profound statement St. Paul gave to all believers looking for Jesus Christ’s coming. Thanks to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The signs pointing toward the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ are very clear in our modern day and time corresponding with the Holy Scriptures it is at our door. Here are some of the prophecies that mark the time of the Day of the Lord:

1. There will be an increase in knowledge according to Daniel 12:4. We are the only generation in the 20^th century that has had a knowledge explosion. Technology and increase in education in all areas of learning abound.

2. Many shall run to and fro (Daniel 12:4). Again we are that generation that travel and transportation are available so that we go anywhere in the world in just a few hours or in a day. Man has also reached space by satellite or rocket ship.

3. Birth of the Nuclear Age and Nuclear Weaponry and Warfare from the Middle East (Ezekiel 38 & 39; Zechariah 14:12). In current news you can see what countries are building and using atomic weapons like Russia (Gog, Rosh, Meshach, Tubal) and assisting others, including Islamic nations as Iran, Iraq, (Persia) Syria & Lebanon (Ishmaelites), Ethiopia (possibly Arabia), Edom (Jordan), Kings of the East, including China, North Korea, and the Orient. It’s all happening right before our eyes.

4. Rebirth of Israel (Isaiah 66:8; Matt. 34:32), when you see the fig tree bloom again you’ll know the end is near. Israel became a nation on May 15, 1948; in just 50 years a miracle sprung up from the desert and made it a flourishing oasis. Israel used a method called drip irrigation to pipe in the water from the Jordan. Ancient Hebrew is restored by Eliazar Ben-Yehuda “Father of Modern Hebrew” after centuries of its extinction (Zephaniah 3:9).

5. Signs of scoffers in the last days are everywhere (2 Peter 3:3-4). Atheists are on the rise with their own kind of religion in telling everyone there is no God. While persecution of Christians are worldwide with threats and torture. Many martyrs have died for the sake of the Gospel.

6. Gathering of the Russian Jews from the North Country will return to their homeland, Israel (Jeremiah 23:7). In 1991, the Ethiopian Jews return to Israel (Zephaniah 3:10).

7. Jerusalem is no longer under Gentile control (Luke 21:24; Psalm 102:16). Jerusalem has been under control of the Jewish people since the Six Day War of 1967.

8. The Invention of International T.V. The 20^th century is the only time in all history that has achieved this ingenuity. The first Telstar Satellite has made it possible for worldwide coverage (Revelation 11:9, 10).

9. There will be signs of deception. Everywhere you look and you hear theirs is deceptiveness and false Christs and evil men deceiving the elect and themselves. Secular humanism is brainwashing people to believe that they’re all right and that there is no right or wrong you responsible for your own actions. This is a very dangerous time we live in (Matt. 24).

10.There will be famines, pestilence, and earthquakes in various places and various times. This sign is very obvious just by looking at your evening news or newspaper. Prices will rise and there will only be enough for one day’s wage for food. AIDS, SARS and other deadly diseases are on the increase. Great earthquakes will cause islands to disappear (Revelation 6; 16:18).

11.In the days of Noah so shall it be in the time of the end. In Noah day the earth was filled with sin and violence. Immorality and violent acts are increasing every day such as never been in Noah’s day or any age. Yes, we are that terminal generation to see the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matt 24:37).

12.Revival of the Roman Empire (Daniel 7). In 1957 was a red-letter year when this prophecy was fulfilled when The European Ideal began with the signing of the Treaty of Rome instituted a Common Market consisting of France, West Germany, Italy and the three Benelux states that will lead to the European Union. (Rev. 13:1-8; Daniel 7:23). This will increase into 10 nations or superstates (Daniel 2:40-44).

No man knows the day or the hour when the Lord will come. St. Paul warned us about the foolishness of date setting (2 Thessalonians 2:1-3). Groups in the past have done this to much embarrassment. The Millerites, a group from which the Seventh-Day Advent church grew, in 1844 and 1846 believed that Christ was return at that time. The Millerites gathered in white robes on top of a mountain waiting for the Rapture but that time never happened. The holy scriptures say in Mark 13:32-33, But of that day and that hour no man knows, no not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take heed, watch and pray for you know not what the time is. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so come as a thief in the night. When they shall say peace and safety then sudden destruction shall come upon them. Be not in darkness (sin) that that day should overtake you as a thief (1 Thessalonians 5:2-4).

Do you want to be ready when Jesus comes to call up His church into Heaven to escape the coming Tribulation coming upon the Earth. Just be prepared because to the end Jesus may establish your heart unblameable in holiness before God our Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints (1 Thessalonians 3:13). Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to himself a special people, zealous of good works (Titus 2:13-14). If you want to be one counted then repeat the following prayer and mean it in your heart.

Dear God,

Thank you for sending your son Jesus Christ to die for my sins. According to your Word, I believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior and that you raised him from the dead that I am saved by the blood he shed on the cross at Calvary. I turn from my sins and I will live for you and follow you all the days of my life. Thank you for saving me and making me your child. Fill me with your Holy Spirit and guide me each day in your mercy and grace. In Christ Jesus my Lord. AMEN.

Greater is He (Jesus) who is in you than he (the Evil One, Satan) who is in the world. – I John 4:4

Be ready for battle. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and be prepared in truth, the Spirit, peace, faith, righteousness, and salvation.

If you said the prayer go to a Bible believing church that preaches the Gospel of Christ, get with other Christians who know the Lord and have them help you when you need it. Read God’s Word, the Holy Bible every day. Pray everyday to keep in relationship with the Lord. And tell others about your new found faith in Jesus Christ.
