JOACHIM 1st (KNOWN AS NESTOR)
He received the nickname of Nestor, as did Louis 13th that of Just, that is to say without anyone having revealed the reason. Joachim was only sixteen when he became Elector. The county of Ruppin having become vacant by the death of Wichmann, Count of Lindow, the Elector united this fief with the Mark.
[Joachim 1st] died in 1532, leaving two sons: namely Joachim, who succeeded him; and the Margrave John, to whom he left the New Mark, Crossen, Sternberg and Storkow.
