Dracula is classic matrerial-you
can't get much more of a"Traditional" history than that. Granted,
the modern film version is interesting at times, it's still a fun
watch. (Watch it a few times..you'll like it more each time...and you'll
catch more things and really appreciate it better.) The costumes and scenery
are also amazing.
DVD Version: The disk is two sided-one is theater ratio, the other pan-and-scan. No extra features, but the color levels are so amazing that it's like watching it anew. Take a peek at the scene in which he mists in on Mina-the color green is so vidid, it's amazing. Interview with the Vampire
Now who can hate this film? Here we have an opportunity to see Anne's infamous
book on the big screen. Again, the movie is different than the book, and
even more mild, yet it still carries the famous Anne Rice erotic nature.
Her Vampires are eternally sexual beings for all that they have none. But
the sensuality of the blood and the feeding thereof are her trademark and
play through into the movie.
Blade.
Mmmm....who can hate a Vampire movie that opens with that delicious "sprinkler"
scene. I tell you, it's nothing but a damned tease! Nifty special effects
and fast-passed story , that although obviously based on the comic it represents,
is very entertaining to say the least. The one thing I truly hated about
the film is the fact that the Elders let the upstart, Deacon live long
enough to cause such havoc. Jeez, like that would really ever happen. Some
punk-assed
created vampire disrespecting Natural-Born Vampires?
I think not. (But that's discussion for another page!)
The Lost Boys is classic
material...boy moves to new town, boy meets half-undead girl, boy meets
girl's fuly undead clique, boy slays vampire leader, all is well. No, really,
if you haven't seen the film, it's great. A lot of times you can catch
it on tv around Halloween on TNT or SciFi...It's full of one-liners and
it has to have the funniest ending in a vampire film. A classic. Get a
group of friends together and rent it!
