See end of page for FAQ and SentinelAngst webpages (pic gallery, etc.)Two-month increments beginning from your subscription date and continuing in blocks of time. It doesn't matter when during the two month period that you post a story because posting a story does not "reset" the clock. So, if you subbed on 6/25 then you must post your first story by 8/25/99. Your second "official" story must be posted between 8/25/99 and 10/25/99. If you post two stories between 8/25 and 10/25, you still need to do something "official" for the second block of time. That way, we can hopefully get a steady stream of fiction.
And, no, this deadline shouldn't cause you any great amount of angst *grin* If it does, well then just use that angst in your story. Work with it! LOL! This should be fun! If you find yourself short of time or with writer's block, just do a short snippet only a few lines long. J You can post in parts, just label it as a posting-in-parts. Any story started on the list should be completed in a timely manner. (Don't leave us hanging! We're addicts -- that would be just plain cruel!) J
Remember, you can post a snippet, a story, a poem, or an original drawing.
Angst, Smarm, or Hurt/Comfort must be present in the creative work.

FAQ and list rules for SENTINEL ANGST list
General Rules, there aren't many so there's no cause for an
anxiety attack! *grin*
1) Thou shalt post a story, snippet, poem, or original Sentinel drawing, that is angst, smarm, or hurt/comfort related at least once every two months.
2) Thou mayest post the story text here OR the URL. Posting the story to other lists is okay. However, please try to post some works that are exclusive to this list every once in awhile.
3) Thou shalt not Flame!
Flaming is defined on this list as posts made with ill-will for the
purpose of insulting someone, hurting a listsibs feelings, etc.
Joking, if with good-will, is not flaming. Please, I ask that if you
get a post and you aren't sure if it's meant with good-will
or ill-will, give the poster the benefit of the doubt. Assume it was
all in good fun and try to find that smile of yours. If
someone does post a flame, she will be warned. The second incident
of flaming will result in the poster being unsubbed.
But I really don't want to unsub anybody b/c it makes me feel like
a big meanie, so be nice, okay? *grin*
4) Thou shalt not post Slash stories. Thou mayest discuss slash (mildly)
5) A/U, humor, etc are okay subjects for stories as long as there is some element of angst, smarm, or h/c (Make sure to LABEL your stories)
6) POSTING IN PARTS/Incompletes:
Try to limit. Only complete stories count toward your dues (missing
scenes are okay and do count). Members are more than welcome to
post in parts *if* s/he posts the parts regulary. I consider regularly
to be a new part posted at LEAST once every few days (this "every few days"
is just a guideline, not a rule). I will give a member credit for his/her
PART when the first snippet is posted, but his/her credit will be removed
if the story is not completed within her two month time block. Remember,
every member must post an "official" story for "credit" at least once every
two months, so if you start a story and can't finish it within your two
month time block, just post a little snippet or poem (or something)
to count as your "official" story (and make sure you do complete the
"posted in parts" story later (the sooner the better) :-) If a member does
not pay her dues, the big bad listmommy will be very sad and wracked with
guilt because she'll have to unsub the member. *sniffle*
If a member posts a story in parts and then doesn't complete it (leaving us all hanging), s/he'll get a warning (waving finger "bad, bad"). The second time a members posts a story w/out completing it will result in that member being unsubbed. (Two-Strikes and You're Out!). I'm tougher than Ellison and Banks put together! *big grin* Okay, NOT! But I do have one mean black kittie with some seriously sharp claws and she knows how to use them (as evidenced by my many battle scars). So behave! ;-)
Oh! And make sure to LABEL the story as being POSTED IN PARTS.
7) When submitting a story for credit, it would be helpful for you to
label it as counting toward your "dues" or "angst account"
*grin* and if you could tell me whether or not you mind it being posted
to the Angst Teaser page and/or the Angst List Archive page. You might
also mention if the story is going to be exclusive to SentinelAngst. :-)
8) Have fun! Any member failing to have fun shall be summarily unsubbed. *grin* (Kidding!)
I will be trying to save all story postings sent to the list and will
make a web page featuring the stories (or their URLS)
if (and only if) the author gives permission. I'll try to post
two versions of this web page. One will be
accessible to the public with incomplete stories that are exclusive
to SENTINEL ANGST. Yep! A teaser! I have this mean streak, obviously. LOL!
The other web page will act as an archive for exclusive stories and will
be password protected. As a member, you'd better not give out the password.
I mean it! *grin*
ONELIST keeps archives. You can access the list archives (of all posts) by going to ONELIST and accessing your list account. There's also a bookmark feature, so feel free to add a Sentinel-related URL!
The list addie is sentinelangst@onelist.com
To remove yourself, go to www.onelist.com and access your account
by typing in your e-mail address.
If you hit REPLY to a list posting, it will go to the list (public). This is a discussion list, as well, so feel free to gab, gab, gab. :-)
Also, whenever new rules are posted (if I find that they are necessary
to make this a happy place for all) then the new rules are ALWAYS effective
beginning the date posted. In other words, I will make no retroactive rules.
Constitutional issues aside *grin* I wouldn't be such a meanie as to make
a rule and then apply it to things people did before the rule was made
(unless your name is Alex and you have blonde hair and a penchant for picking
on long-haired anthropologists. Then you get a whole set of impossible
rules to live by so that it will be impossible for you NOT to break them,
resulting in your being *eliminated*
... uh... from the list that is) *big, evil grin*
That's all, folks!
