Fairview Living History
& Memorial Service -- 2006
April 28th, 29th & 30th
at Fairview Presbyterian Church, Fountain Inn, S. C.  Located just off Fairview Road(Hwy 418 West) on Fairview Church Road, look for the signs.  Presented by the Moses T. Fowler Camp #1721, Sons of Confederate Veterans & Butler Guard Re-enactment Group.


~~ FRIDAY ~~
On Friday, the 28th, we welcome all Student Groups to visit the Living History Exhibits from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Please call for more information & for reservations at : James Rodgers (864) 862-4086 or email at jellybeanjamesh$$bellsouth.net.

MeMaws Catering will be open in the afternoon and evening and all day Saturday with homemade BBQ, HotDogs, drinks, chips, boiled peanuts, etc. This will be open to the public, staff, and re-enactors to buy food.
Friday evening there will be a play depicting how the events of the War affected the lives of a typical family from South Carolina.  It will show how they, like many others, were trying to survive a proud & glorious, yet tragic & painful period of our Southern History.  The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. & 8:30 p.m.  Tickets will be available at the front gate.  The cost will be Adults -- $3.00; Children -- $2.00; under 6 years - free.

~~ SATURDAY ~~
The Camp will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday.  There will be many activities of interest for the entire family.  We will have the Living History, which includes life as it was in the 1860's.  This will include demonstrations by the Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery including the firing of Cannons.  There will also be a tea for all the Ladies in the afternoon, following the battle. Confederate and Union troops will commemerate a Battle in the field adjacent to the cemetery around 2 p.m.  
In the evening, the re-enactors will present a series of dramas in a Lantern Tour. These will show more of a military side to the events of 1861 to 1865 affecting South Carolina's Confederate Soldiers.  The tours will be at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. & 9:30 p.m.  The cost will be Adults - $3.00; Children - $2.00; under 6 free.  All money collected will go to defraying costs and for the preservation and living history projects of the various associated groups. Food will be available at MeMaws all day Saturday until camp closing.

          ~~ SUNDAY ~~
 The Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. inside Historic Fairview Presbyterian Church on Sunday, April 30th, followed by a very moving tribute for our Confederate Memorial Day inside the cemetery walls. Our speaker for this event will be Chaplain Mark Evans of the Sons of Confederate Veterans.
