Miriam Quiambao Today

Every Filipino remembers Miriam Quiambao as the country's closest chance to the Miss Universe crown back in 1999. We all recall the way she glided effortlessly on stage in that sparkling one-shoulder Halston evening gown, poised and bursting with pride. She may not have won, but she did take home the pageant's first runner-up crown. Since then, Miriam Quiambao has become a celebrity through her public appearances and her foray into the world of broadcast journalism.

Miriam Quiambao upon returning to the country was awarded Outstanding Alumna for the field of arts and entertainment by her alma mater the University of Santo Tomas Institute of Physical Therapy.

She had an early morning show "Unang Hirit"; which goes on-air at 5 am in GMA Channel 7 and she also co-host with Paolo Bediones in the magazine program "Extra Extra" at 5:30 pm in the same channel.

Miriam Quiambao also gives acting a try.  She played the female lead role in GMA's newest sitcom, "Idol Ko Si Kap" alongside former Cavite Governor Bong Revilla.  Both are first-timers in the sitcom genre. Miriam says that she finds acting a refreshing take from the hosting job although she is still focused with her broadcasting goals.

" If you’re in another country, you feel proud of your country & the school you came
from… I refer to God as the center of my wisdom. I would like to thank the men &
women of UST for their support in my success. "
