Portland had a very impressive preseason, going 8-0, with wins over Seattle, Phoenix, Los Angeles Lakers, and others. Steve Smith's preseason high scoring game was against Sacramento with 19. Bonzi Wells had a great preseason, scoring 23 points coming off the bench against Phoenix. Jermaine O'Neal and Rasheed Wallace have both had 22 points and 12 rebound performances in different games. Pippen had one 20 point game. Stoudamires high game was 16 points and 9 rebounds.

Portlands season begins with games against Vancouver, Denver, and LA Clippers, but gets more difficult after that with games 4 and 5 against the Lakers and Jazz. On November 13th, Portland will host Isaiah Rider, Jimmy Jackson and the Atlanta Hawks.

Brian Grant is recovering from knee surgery and most likely will not play in Tuesdays season opener at Vancouver. Rasheed Wallacw will start in his place.
