1. Place in italics

      underline them 
      (this phrase is 
       underlined).

      a. Use italics 
         whenever you

   2. Capitalize the 
      first word.



   3. Capitalize the 
      last word.



   4. Capitalize all 
      other important 
      words

      a. Nouns

      b. Pronouns

      c. Verbs

      d. Adjectives 
        (except a, an,and the).

      e. Adverbs

      f. Interjections



   5. Do not capitalize the
      articles (a, an, and 
      the)



   6. Do not capitalize 
      most conjunctions 
      (like and, but  and 
       or)



   7. Do not capitalize 
      short prepositions
