Int: Dusk.. tour was a great success, what are the most important differents with your previous tour?
Dani: First of all, the Dusk tour has been longer; infact, with our new experience, we had the opportuniy to play also in new country, and sometimes we had the possibility to make more than one concert in a city. For example, in Germany we made two concert, one with Dimmu Borgir and another with Dissection, two exceptional bands. Also, people and organizers show more respect to us: we had the opportuniy to play on bigger stage, and we had sound technicians very professional. In few words, all is gone in the better way...
Int: Where people welcomed you in the warmer way?
Dani: In Europe i think Italy, France, Spain, Portugal...
Int: so, everywhere...
Dani: Not everywhere, but, in general, we were well welcomed in the major part of the countries where we went to play.
Int: Tell me something about Dynamo festival
Dani: Play with 70.000 people was very exciting, you don't have the possibility to do it every day. I was only displeased to play during the day... (Someone said that Dani was VERY in rage for this decision NdT)
Int: And what about Milwaukee Metal fest? You played with Absu, venom on the more extreme stage of the States...
Dani: That was really great!! There people treated us as Gods, everyone made what we asked for. At first, we thought that few persons known about us there, because our albums were distribuited in a bad way there, but we were wrong! Then, it was also my birthday, all was a great party! All went in a very good way, and also if the sound wasn't very "clear" the show was perfect.
Int: What about Venom?
Dani: Their show was good, as ever, but there was some parts too static, it seemed that on the stage there was ghosts, not Venom. Also, a lot of people went away when Venom said that they were going to play their new songs. people want old Venom, when they were different, with more energy and will to play.
Int: tell me somthing about the short movie you were making...
Dani: We had the thought to make a short movie for the purpose of being a sort of bridge between Dusk and her Embrace and the new album, but when we ended our last tour and we went to the director we saw that the work was only at the begin, and it wasn't very good. So we decided to make all the work alone, without other help. But we had numerous other things to do, so the work was interrupted. Now we are working at it, and I can say that it will be long about ten minutes, and there will be a song of the new album with an intro and an outro.
Int: Damien left the band... why?
Dani: Simply, we sat down friendly and we talked about the future music of Cradle of Filth. Damien wanted different music, but all the band didn't agree with him. So we, friendly, decided that it was better to follow different ways. So Damien left the band... Damien was very good, but I think that the new one, Les Smith, is fully into Cradle of Filth music. Better than Damien, I think.
Int: What about your single?
Dani: We had the idea to make a single, but we had numerous problems (also the departure of Damien and the search of the new keyboard player) and the idea was left. We are not going to release a single anymore...
Int: can you say something about the new album?
Dani: The new album will be all
Cradle of Filth have done up to now. It will be called "Cruelty and the Beast"
and it will be released on the first months of the new year. We have still to end two
songs and all the lyrics, and we are going to record it during the session of the next two
months. Infact, we will play in Japan, Los Angeles, New York and other, and we will record
between a concert and another. It will be the natural evolution of Dusk, but there will be
numerous new things. Our fans can be sure, we don't want to be commercial or posers, our
sound will be ever melodic and extreme at the same time! And we will start soon a new tour
of the new album, and, I assure you, it will be greater than the last! It's true that
Elizabeth Bathory will have something to do with our new album... In fact currently I'm
reading the book "The Bloody Countess".. Our fans will surely be happy with our
