.Equality Among Equines.

If there's one thing in life that I dispise,
It's hating a person for the shape of their eyes.
Their mouth, their ears, their nose, or teeth.
Or hating someone for the way  they speak.
If there's one thing that I admire,
It's loving someone regardless of colour.
Loving their mind, their soul and being .
Loving someone for what you can't see.

When it was announced that Hasbro were bringing the new ponies back, I nearly died. It was an absolute dream come true. For some reason, however, it never crossed my mind that they might come back as new, different, ponies, and when they did, I was very shocked.
Shocked, but not displeased. And it never even occurred to me that they weren't true My Little Ponies because they looked rather different to their old ancestors. Possibly I was too far high on Cloud 9, too elated that they'd be re-released, to even give that a second thought. Alas, I was one of the few.

Everybody has a right to what they believe in. If they chose not to collect the new ponies, well that's fine by me. Who am I to start saying what people should and should not collect? But what does annoy me, and what I will actively speak out against, are the few people who feel they have the right to verbally bash the ponies and the people who like those ponies, for no real reason other than the fact that they are different. Those who will go onto a newsgroup only to post negative comments about the new ponies that are in most cases unfounded.

I really, really hope we're not going to bring the same discrimination that we as human beings subject on each other into Ponyland. The whole basic point of My Little Pony, the very thing that the comics, books, TV shows and audio cassettes promote, is to love one and other, no matter what. It is in the very essence that is My Little Pony. Persecution simply does not happen in Ponyland. As a child, my interpretation of Ponyland was this wonderful, wonderful place in which magical things happened. A place where these mythical creatures could live together happily. Each day brought a new adventure. I could close my eyes and I'd be there, walking towards the mighty Dream Castle, or in the meadows playing with Apple Jack and Cotton Candy. Ponyland, to me, represents a world that is so pure and so full of love.
I understand that this world is not our own, that Ponyland is mere fiction and that the way in which the ponies live is not the way we as humans can live on Earth. But we shouldn't bring hatred into this fictitional land. If we chose not to collect, that's fine. But don't hate. There's enough hatred in this world, the last thing we need to do is to bring it into the Pony world as well.

If you agree with what I've just said, and have a ponypage...why not include this banner and support the "Equality Among Equines" campaign? If you take a banner, can you PLEASE sign my dreambook so that I know how many people are taking part and can you also LINK BACK TO ME at

http://members.xoom.com/Boingobaby/mlpartset.html

Sooner or later I'll have more banners. Please remember, I don't mind if you don't collect the new ponies. I couldn't care either way!! I certainly wont say I hate 1999 bashers because I've found many to be nice people. This is just against the few who bring hatred into the Pony Communities. We shouldn't have to tolerate it.

I just want to thank everybody that has taken part so far! This is great; keep it up, folks! - Sel

Here is the book to sign!!!
