MEET THE CHALLENGE! Posted on the wall of my classroom I have a
list of the required student behaviors. These are not very exciting but are required. More exciting is that as a professional,
I also demand "Respect, Attention And Response" from all of my students! I like to refer to this in an equation format: "D=(AR)squared."
I view education as a mission. My mission
statement is shared with you to the right of this paragraph. I hope you read it and be sure to ask me about it!
I look forward to challenging you.

“My mission is to provide a safe and challenging classroom
environment where my students are free to express themselves and their ideas so that they are all empowered to reach their
highest potential intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. I will show all students that I care about them by
treating them with respect, compassion, and understanding. I will raise my student’s sense of self-esteem by helping
them develop a positive self-image and a sense of self worth through positive reinforcements and positive attitudes. I will
instill in my students a lifelong love of learning. I will establish high expectations for my students in both academics and
classroom behaviors and I will hold all students accountable for meeting these expectations. I will emphasize the importance
of making proper choices in learning and in life and communicate to them that through the proper choices in learning they
can make all of their dreams come true. My mission statement completely reinforces my beliefs regarding the integration of
technology into the classroom. Technology in the classroom is an attribute of a high performing teacher that can only be achieved
by following this mission statement.”
