My name is Tricia. I was born
Feb. 4th, 1985 and am currently 20 years old. I have created this site to show case my ever growing collection
of person artwork. Most of my pictures are styled after the “Japanese Anime” shows that I have watched since I
was 9 years old. I currently have two sites: this site “Mr. Popo Inc.” and another site called
“Akari Paws” where I am attempting to share my knowledge of drawing with the world. I have always adored drawing and do it as often
as I can. I have so many ideas in my head and the best way for me to express them is to put pencil to paper.
I was attending college to become
a Graphic Artist but my wants have changed. I have so many things artistically wise that I’d love to do I just can’t
choose one thing to go with.
Anyways-
Here is a little more about me:
I am one person of a large family. I have
4 sisters and 2 brothers. In our small house we have lots of pets. I am a huge animal lover, especially cats. We have 4 fan
tailed gold fish, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rodent pets, 1 Zebra Finch, and 1 green tree snaked, lol. I was born in Seattle Washington
but am currently living in the Midwest and have for the last 10 years. Its pretty nice here as long as its not summer, lol.
(I’m not a fan of hot weather or humidity)
The first anime I ever fell in love
with was Sailor Moon. I used to wake up at 6:30am in the morning before school just so I could watch it, lol. (I was just
9 years old then).
A few of my favorites now are:
Inuyasha, Tenchi Muyo!, Full Metal Alchemist, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop.
There are many more I’m just nuts over but those are all I can think of currently.
Other animated shows I like:
Invader Zim, Avatar: The last Air Bender, South Park, Fosters Home for
Imaginary Friends (I know that’s kind of a kiddy show but its so cute and funny, lol).
I love cartoons and aside from them I don’t watch much else besides
documentaries, CSI, and movies.
In my free time I enjoy drawing, painting,
sculpting when I am able to, working with illustration programs on the computer, playing with my cats (Sammy and Popo), writing
and watching movies. I am a huge horror film fan. Activities wise I love swimming. I like playing soccer, tennis and hiking,
which I don’t do any of those things very often anymore. I really enjoy researching stuff for my writing. My favorite
is reading up on other countries. Japan, China, Italy, England and Ireland are my favorites to read about.
As far as my plans for the future… I really want to head off to college.
What I want most is to be a concept creator for some cartoon shows. I would just die of bliss if I could work with an animation
studio creating characters and story lines for shows and movies. (it’s the thing I’m best at)
About My Pictures:
Most of the pictures featured here on this site are 100% originals
that I created. Many of them are character sketches from stories that I’ve written or are characters that I’ve
played in role playing games. I love creating new characters and backgrounds. As you can see most of the pictures featured
here, the new ones anyways, are colored on the computer. I use Xara X Illustrator. I’ve used
Adobe Illustrator and even took a class on it in college. It is an awesome product, but I love Xara X. Xara is so much simpler
to use and with as good as I’ve gotten with it I can get nearly all the same effects that I learned how to use in Adobe.
Some day I would like to be comfortable with Adobe, but I’ll stick to my favorite for now.
I have recently, in the last three or four months that is, become interesting
in trying my hand at Manga (I.e. Japanese graphic novels). I have loads of books from the “How to draw Manga”
series (which I highly recommend). They are very helpful but I still haven’t gotten the hang of drawing at interesting
angels yet so I’m still working on it. In my creations under July 2005 I have a couple pictures of my fist attempts
with using a pen and ink to outline my drawings. I’m not to good at it, lol. I don’t have any kind of technique
as of yet, which you need in creating smooth lines. I still need to practice at it is all.
The other two medium’s you’ll see me use often are
Acrylic paint and colored pencil. I haven’t used my paints in along while because I feel its easier to just use Xara
X instead, but I still have mad love for colored pencils. I know some people will fork over loads of money for really good
colored pencils, but to be honest with you my favorite are plain old Crayola brand colored pencils. You can get lots of different
colors with out having to hawk half your belongings to buy more when you run out.
This is a picture of my beloved cats.
This is the real life version of the little orange and white cat’s that are always featured on my site. We got Sammy,
the white cat first, when he was only two weeks old. He is now 7 years old. Mr. Popo, who the site is named for, we got two
weeks after Sammy. They have always had each other and are the best of friends even with the fact that Mr. Popo is a lot larger
in size then Sammy. I call them my boys and when one is in trouble I ask, “Where is your brother, your partner in crime?”
Yeah I know I’m a little obsessive over them but I love them so.
