#AmigaCafe was founded by ShitLips (Nice nick ;-)) because he was banned from another Amiga channel for having the Nick he does, so he
desided with a group of friends (most notably Zool)
to start his own IRC channel and then #Amigacafe was born !
Today #Amigacafe is located on the Undernet irc network, you can try one of these
Servers :-
- Irc.pi.net (Netherlands) Ports 6660-6667 (I think)
- Se.undernet.org (Sweden)
- Us.undernet.org (USA ;-))
- Nz.undernet.org (New Zealand)
I have to say the 'cafe' is my all time favourite channel, the channel is democratic one with every three months a election is run, there are 2 levels that you can be elected into
- The top level is called a Gov they are 'oped' all of the time and must look after the channel.
- Rangers must look after the channel when there are no Govs about.
Espresso is #AmigaCafes bot (he was written by 'Logix' one of our Rangers),
It's one of the best ones about but we Amiga owners
like to keep pushing software further (even if hardware stands still)
so soon we'll
be seeing 'Espresso II' !
The thing I've always liked about the Amiga family of computers is the fact
that unlike the PC where you keep needing to upgrade your hardware, Amiga
programmers
push the hardware !
