Call for Poster Presentations
 Deadline November 17, 2000

The annual meeting of the Mississippi Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2000. We will meet in the Bost Auditorium on the campus of Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS. Registration begins at 9:30 am with the plenary sessions starting at 10:00 am.  For more information click here.

 
 

SWCS Selling Shirts

           The Mississippi Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society is selling shirts with an embroidered logo for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.  There are several shirt styles and two options available on the logo.    Payment for shirts should be made to SWCS.  Click for more information on denim and oxford shirts.

Society Helps Sponsor Statewide Events

            Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman and NRCS Chief Pearlie Reed presented the Group Honor Awards for Excellence in two separate ceremonies held in Washington, DC on June 9, 1999. The awards were accepted on behalf of the team by Aqua Fair Project Director Laura Beiser and NRCS Public Affairs Specialist Jeannine May, who submitted the award application for the Aqua Fair 1998 event.  Aqua Fair is a statewide water resources education event for fifth graders.
