Hi Andrew,

I came across your website yesterday and I read with avid interest your views on heavy metal chelation ! Wow ! I've been up half the night thinking about it.

Without going into a massively dull and boring history of how I came to be ill, I have reason to suspect lead & mercury toxicity for myself, although the results of a hair test only showed slightly elevated lead levels ie no mercury (although that's not unusual).

Several GP's have been unhelpful and unable to tie my symptoms together. I have therefore relied on my own research to identify the cause of my symptoms. This has taken me into the world of heavy detox where chelation is deemed the only way to treat any form of heavy metal toxicity.

I had my amalgams safely removed back in march, by a holistic dentist. I was really ill at the time. Since then I have made good progress and have dabbled with chelation which has usually seen me packed off back to bed for periods of up to 2 weeks, unable to get out again.

I'm not a fan of chelation but found no evidence to the contrary until I came across your site yesterday. Chelation, it seems, is the unchallenged treatment of choice? I'm also a member of a Mercury Detox group on Facebook which follows the Andrew Hall Cutler frequent dose chelation protocol. Funnily enough, all the members support chelation but nobody seems to be getting any better. There don't seem to be any success stories flying around to motivate the others? Most members are either doing chelation or waiting to have their amalgams removed. Everyone is ill!

What I noticed about this chelation protocol is that you have to buy the Andrew Cutler book to start off with and at £40+, it's not cheap (although I did find a pdf on the internet). Then there are the huge amount of supplements to buy and you can end up buying a whole new cupboard to house them in. I store mine in the fridge and I looked at them the other day and thought to myself, "some fucker's making a lot of money out of me" lol! This seems to be an industry all on it's own and that makes me suspicious!

Another thing about Cutler is that I don't trust him. I found out that he issued a take down notice on a website that was promoting his book and using excerpts of it to do so. Such a move makes you question his motives for doing so?

I'm a great believer in nutrition and I'd designed my own program incorporating steam baths combined with mineral nutritional replacement. This seems to work well but if I introduce a chelator, I crash again.

Well, no more chelating for me. I agree with you Andrew that the only way to treat heavy metal toxicity is to let nature take it's course and wait for the minerals and heavy metals to be replaced naturally. Using chelators to claw out minerals is madness and always will cause a range of accompanying problems. I don't think I've suffered any permanent damage but I will consider using cannabis oil at some point over the next few years to aid neuron regrowth if required. I'm hoping this might help.

Anyway, thanks for putting this information out there. I can't believe it's taken me so long to find an alternative view of chelation and one that I whole heartedly agree with.

If you have any tips / links to other info sites re: chelation / nutrition then please share. I'd also like to know more about the compendium....

lisa , the basic point is you claim the authenticity of ramana as your own, yet you behave in a narrow way that he didn't, you endlessly delete what conflicts you or your followers from the pap and blinkered blindness that you and they apparently think is “truth”

ramana in fact once when a pamphlet was printed outlining some faults of his said they should have asked him because he had plenty more to put in that book !

one of the few instances I know of ramana coercing is telling papaji (h.w.l. poonja) to go and save his wife and children living in lyallpur/faisalabad during the pakistan partition which was pretty violent !

hwl poonja was very reluctant to go and I have strong reservations about him (poonja) and the bandwagon that grew up around him !

ramana was notoriously non interfering with his devotees which brought him quite abit of criticism..........!
