there is a book in the bible called “the wisdom of jesus son of sirach” which is actually in the apocrypha and probably the best book in the bible

in all my years at anglican boarding schools it was never mentioned once and if you think about it, it was probably the source of the "man of wisdom" aspect of the jesus myth since it was written well before the new testament and the way people think, the same name is close enough

                                                              text

the apocrypha was actually those part of the original bible (septuagint) and is in the king james version but is almost completely excised these days because its obvious nature as wisdom literature raises too many questions

all my years dealing with christians and it slowly dawned on me they had never read the bible and knew nothing about it, that's how you tell a christian

you can't read most of the bible including the apocrypha without destroying any notions of certainty about the new testament
