This is Shroom, the evil leader of The Mushrooms. He commands The Mushrooms' huge army from his huge temple in The Mushroom Zone. His is considered a god by his subjects, which includes the Skull Warriors. Legend has it that one day Shroom will uproot himself and turn all of the cherries back into mushrooms. It is believed that only obedient mushrooms will be saved, so the mushrooms obey their leader (This theory has not yet been verified.) Why do the Skull Warriors obey him? It is believed that they are just very gullible. Shroom somehow controls the Mush Room, where mushrooms are born in a pool of Cream of Mushroom Soup (No one knows how this works either, but it has a cool name!)
Shroom is protected by an army of fearless mushrooms. Even if the bodyguards are defeated, Shroom has his own giant Anti-Human Ray. He is immune to most human weapons.
