Please note that not all triggers are bad, some can be good, but for this page, we are using triggers in the negative sense in order to help you identify some of your own.  In the links that we included at the bottom, some of these pages teach you how to create positive triggers to place you in a safer spot emotionally.


These are triggers/stressors for us:
Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The color red and yellow - actually any shades of red, orange and yellow
Choking
Too much activity or not enough activity
Unfamiliar Places
Watching the news
Going to see the therapist
Stress
Loud noises
Certain kinds of music depending on what mood we are in
Certain TV shows, i.e., reality shows like cops, law and order, etc.
The old version of the catholic prayer "Now I lay me down to Sleep"
Animals or children in pain or crying.
Too many people around us
Crowded freeways and roads when we feel we are stuck
Having trouble breathing with our asthma
Hearing anyone argue or a raised angry voice
Alcohol and users
Drugs and addicts
Certain smells
Certain tastes
Certain frequencies
Certain Words or phrases
Too much sensory input over a 24 hour period
Sound of the Phone
Knocking on the door if we are not expecting someone
Ringing the doorbell even if we are expecting someone
Strong Florescent lights
Glares of any kind (from lights)
Wind
Rain
Strong perfumes
Flickering lights
Not enough or too much sleep
Idiots (LOL)
Certain foods like eggs
Certain food additives
Some medications
Too much driving at once
Firecrackers
