Cockatiel Baby Hatching

Here are some pictures of a brand new baby cockatiel hatching out of it's egg. This process can take up to 2 -3 days as the chick slowly works on chewing the membrane and shell of the egg to work his way out; this really takes a lot of energy. When they are hatched you can see their egg tooth that they use to chew their way through. Because we check the nest frequently we are able to witness beautiful moments such as this. My husband was here so I ran to grab my camera and we snapped pictures through the whole hatching. This is one of Chico's babies; he is such a sweet heart he never fusses when we intrude upon his nest.

See the crack in the egg?
I am working on it, just give me a few
