I fell in love with Vernon Payne's Knight Twister when I first saw the plans for a control line model of it in a magazine when I was a kid.

The plans for the full size airplane became available in the late '50s and a friend and I started this one in 1961.

In four years of hard work we completed the airplane. I made the first flight in May, 1964.

Span-upper.........15'          Engine....Franklin 90 hp.

Span-lower..........13'          Propeller..Hartzel

Length.................14'          Top Speed..........120 mph.

Wing Area...........60 sq. ft. Stall Speed...........90 mph.

Empty weight.......575 lb.

Finish was hand rubbed butyrate dope on grade A cotten.

The panel was strictly basic with the addition of CHT and accelerometer.
